On May 22,, the 2026 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application & Education Cooperation and Exchange Events themed “Digital & Intelligent Education Empowering the Silk Road”, along with supporting education exchange events and the “China-Russian Years of Education in Shaanxi Province”, officially launched in Xi’an. Hosted by the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and undertaken by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and Northwest University, the event drew over 350 participants including academicians, entrepreneurs and university representatives from China, Russia, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.
At the launching ceremony, Chinese and foreign universities, institutions and enterprises signed 9 cooperation agreements in education, science and technology, culture and other fields. Six cooperation projects including the China-Arab Center for Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning were unveiled, and the results of the first selection of “New Progress in Silk Road Archaeology” were released. The event has built a solid platform and boosted integrated development in talent training, scientific research cooperation and cultural exchanges among relevant countries. After the ceremony, participants visited the exhibition of achievements of Silk Road industry-education-research & application cooperation projects, and relevant delegates attended the higher education matchmaking meeting of the “China-Russian Years of Education in Shaanxi Province”.
