On May 23, the sub-panel of 2026 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application in the Protection, themed as “In-depth Integration of Protection, Development and Utilization of Silk Road Cultural Heritage through International Industry, Education,Research, and Application” was held at the Chang’an Campus of Northwest University. Co-sponsored by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and Northwest University, the conference was undertaken by the School of Computer Science and the School of Electronic Information (School of Artificial Intelligence) of NWU. The conference gathered more than 50 experts, scholars, government officials and industry practitioners from seven countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Sweden and China. They conducted in-depth discussions on the inheritance of Silk Road civilization, empowerment of digital technology and international industry-education-research collaboration, to jointly advance the protection, inheritance and efficient utilization of Silk Road cultural heritage. Zhang Ping, Counselor of the State Council, Director of the State Key Laboratory and Professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications; Wang Zhongmin, former Vice Chairman of the National Council for Social Security Fund; Wen Tong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Division of the Education Departments of Shaanxi Province Government; and Han Zhibin, the Vice President of Northwest University attended the opening ceremony.
