On May 21, the 3rd China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum themed “Promoting Common Modernization through High-quality Development” opened in Xi’an. The opening ceremony was combined with that of the 10th Silk Road International Exposition & China East-West Cooperation, Investment and Trade Fair. People from all walks of life of China and Uzbekistan gathered to discuss cooperation plans.
A series of sub-forums on economy, trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation and green development, modern agriculture, tourism and women’s development were held alongside the main forum. Professor Ma Jian from Northwest University was invited to the sub-forum on scientific and technological innovation and green development, and delivered a report entitled Protection and Practice of Silk Road Cultural Heritage between China and Uzbekistan.
During the forum, Ukhtam Rakhimovich Salomov, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Kholikov Abduvali Yunizokovich, Director of the Higher Education Development and Global Cooperation Center, and Shokhrukhbek Shukhrat Ugli Nazarov, Chief Expert of the International Cooperation and Ranking Department, visited Northwest University. Accompanied by Zhao Yijun, Fourth-level Researcher of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Office of Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the delegation visited the China-Central Asia Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Human and Environment Research. Chen Fulin, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President of Northwest University, received the guests.
