Continued Compilation of Guan‑Xue Document Collections Selected for National Publication Foundation Project

On August 19, the National Publication Foundation Planning and Administration Office published the evaluation results for 2026 National Publication Foundationsupported projects. Continued Compilation of GuanXue Document Collections (21 titles), published by Northwest University Press, was selected for the funding list. It is the only ancienttext collation project from Shaanxi Province on this year’s list.

Under the chief editorship of professor Liu Xuezhi, senior professor of liberal arts at Shaanxi Normal University, council member and advisor of the International Confucian Association, and honorary president of the Shaanxi Confucius Research Association, this series contains 21 works with over 12 million Chinese characters. Centering on GuanXue literature produced in the Guanzhong area during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the book series sorts out academic origins and conducts rescueoriented textual collation for collected writings of another 28 GuanXue scholars. Based on GuanXue Library: Document Compilation Series, which has collated works of 29 GuanXue scholars ranging from Zhang Zai to Niu Zhaolian, this collection supplements GuanXue documents covering the Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods, so as to better display the full picture of surviving historical GuanXue documents.
