From July 26 to 30, the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Media and Think‑Tank Summit took place in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan. At the invitation of Kabar State News Agency of Kyrgyzstan, professor Li Hao, Dean of the Xi’an Institute of Tang‑Dynasty Culture at Northwest University, led a four‑member delegation to attend the summit.
Co‑hosted by Xinhua News Agency and Kabar State News Agency of Kyrgyzstan, the summit adopted the theme “The New‑Era Significance of the Shanghai Spirit: From Value Consensus to Cooperative Practice”. More than 260 representatives from nearly 150 mainstream media outlets, well‑known think tanks, government departments of SCO member states, as well as the SCO Secretariat attended the meeting. During forum sessions on July 27, professor Li Hao and professor Wang Wei delivered keynote speeches titled “Poetry as a Medium to Promote Mutual Learning among Civilizations” and “Poetic Common Ground and Civilizational Empathy: Silk‑Road Poetry as a Flexible Medium for SCO People‑to‑People Exchanges”.
