On the afternoon of August 15, a training group of Libyan diplomats visited Northwest University and held exchange discussions on the Chang’an Campus. The delegation included more than 20 officials from functional departments of Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the Minister’s Office, Islamic Affairs Division, Asia‑Australia Division, International Organizations Division, administrative‑finance system and multiple overseas diplomatic offices. Han Zhibin, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and vice‑president; Liu Yan, vice‑president of Beijing International Chinese Language Institute; and Luofei, Deputy Head of the Libyan diplomat delegation attended and addressed the forum. Relevant staff from Beijing International Chinese Language Institute and faculty representatives from the School of Country and Region Studies also participated.
Participants conducted thorough discussions covering Libya’s current development, disciplinary features of country and region studies, diplomat training programs, joint talent cultivation and people‑to‑people cultural exchanges. Consensus was reached on multiple potential cooperation areas. After the discussion, the two sides exchanged souvenirs, and all participants took a group photo.
