On October 17, the Second Seminar on Country and Region Studies Discipline Development and Think Tank Building, co-hosted by the Discipline Appraisal Group for Country and Region Studies under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and our university, was held in Xi'an. More than 120 leaders, experts and scholars from universities and research institutions across the country, central government ministries and commissions and relevant departments of Shaanxi Province, along with representatives of think tanks and of NWU faculty and students, gathered to conduct in-depth discussions on such topics as the development of the Country and Region Studies discipline, think tank building, talent cultivation and international communication, jointly seeking new paths for the development of the Country and Region Studies discipline and for serving the national strategy.
